Experimenting with yeast.

This term, 5/6D has been learning about Micro organisms. Last week, in science, we did an experiment to see what happens when yeast (used in bread making) is mixed with sugar and water.   Yeast is a micro organism that requires food and the right temperature to grow. In groups of five or six, students used water bottles and different measures of yeast, sugar and water to see what happens when the mixtures are left over night.

Year 6 Taster Lessons.

Well done to all the Year 6 students who accompanied Mrs Armstrong to Callaghan Campus Waratah on Friday to participate in taster lessons in preparation for the transition to high school. Year 6 had an amazing day participating in a variety of lessons including English, dance, science and woodwork. Thanks to Mrs Armstrong and well done year 6 on great behaviour and effort. 

Cross Country

Yesterday,  students from years 3-6 walked to Islington Oval and competed in our annual Cross Country. It was great to see everyone trying their best! Thanks to Mr Slade for his fantastic organisation of the event and to Mrs Bowman for the photos. Well done to those students who made it to Zone.

Swimming Carnival!

Well done to everyone who participated in our annual swimming carnival today! It was great to see so many students having a go in numerous events and displaying great sportsmanship, cheering each other on! Thanks to Mr Slade for organising a great day. Students who have qualified for Zone will compete this Wednesday! Good Luck!
